I think life should be a journey and an adventure. So I like to think of my life as a vacation, and living in gorgeous sunny California makes it easy to feel as if I’m on a perma vacay!

However, when we do actually leave California for vacation, we typically go to Colorado or Wyoming. We load up the car, head to the stunning National Forests for some backpack camping and hiking in the vast mountains before setting up camp next to a gorgeous lake. Fishing for our meals makes me feel at peace and definitely tests my patience!

I also love small, quaint mountain towns. My current favorite mountain town is Steamboat Springs, Colo. My dream is to buy a ranch outside this town one day – my fingers are crossed!

I also really enjoy Utah and Idaho. I have never been to Montana but I know it’s a must. I have a positive feeling I will fall in love with the big sky state!

So whether it’s hiking to a lake, camping several nights or staying at a cute bed and breakfast in a cozy ski town, I love visiting places in the gorgeous West!

As a Pendleton Posse member I feel so lucky that I get to visit so many great western towns throughout our travels. We all work so hard but through our traveling we get to see wonderful places and receive rewarding experiences in return.

My weekends traveling as a Pendleton Posse member are typically a go-go-go kind of weekend, filled with adventure. I typically have a flight at the crack of dawn that departs on a Thursday or Friday. Once I meet the rest of the girls for our connecting fight we exchange hugs and hellos and grab a bite to eat before we jump onto our next flight….typically a puddle jumper….*GULP*.  Where is the Pendleton® Whisky when you need it!?

We typically arrive at our destination during the late afternoon, and it’s a “hit the ground running” type of scenario. We have a short turnaround time to get checked in to our hotel rooms, divide up our apparel, freshen-up, primp, and before you know it we are out the door in no time.

Our schedule consists of stopping by local liquor stores, making rounds at the rodeo grounds and VIP tents, and reconnecting with Pendleton® Whisky fans. We typically visit liquor stores earlier in the day where we’re often able to do tastings in the store – it’s a great experience introducing our whisky to new drinkers right on the spot and getting to witness first-hand as Pendleton® Whisky wins over their taste buds!

After we’ve made our arrival known at the rodeo grounds – “Let’er Buck!” – we head out to the local restaurants and bars. It’s here that you can find us sipping on some Pendleton® Whisky, educating folks about our brand, giving out Pendleton® Whisky gear, and even getting our dancing shoes on! When it’s time to turn in for the night, our team usually grabs a necessary late night snack!

Sundays are usually the days we return home and these days are always bittersweet. We say goodbye to fun times, memories and each other but always know the next rodeo location is right around the corner.

To keep up with the Pendleton Posse’s whereabouts, stay tuned to the Pendleton® Whisky Facebook page for updates on where our next rodeo stop is and for the latest information about the brand. We’re always looking forward to seeing our favorite fans across the country – and we hope to see you at our next destination!

Let’er Buck!

I had never been to North Platte but growing up in the West, I know all about NEBRASKALand Days and the Wild Buffalo Bill Rodeo. I was thrilled for my first opportunity to see everything first-hand. I loved the small town feel and the friendly gestures – everyone had a smile or wave to return. It was also great to see how many people knew about Pendleton® Whisky and how eager they were eager to share their favorite drink recipes and pastimes with us. We discovered Country Time Lemonade and Pendleton® Whisky is a favorite concoction for many.

And I tell you what, the good folks in North Platte know how to have fun! The rodeo was so full of great energy. Shooter’s had a wonderful dance floor and band, The Hub had a great view of the parade and The House Bar had pool tables and some crazy air hockey talent. I could go on and on but I will just say that it was wonderful Pendleton® Whisky was flowing everywhere we went and the people were having a great time – and so were we!

I’m grateful for the new memories and friends and can hardly wait to visit NEBRASKALand Days again.

I had the best time at the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo! There are so many major rodeo talents at the event including one of our favorite announcers, Justin McKee. I can’t wait to go back next year and spend time with the people in Santa Maria and see all my new friends. Everyone was extremely receptive to the brand and the weather was perfect, not to mention I had my first drive up highway 101 with my sister, Mindy! Thank you, Santa Maria for an excellent rodeo.

I love the 4th of July! It is the coziest, biggest-piece-of-apple-pie sort of holiday.  I enjoy all holidays in general but I love celebrating this day for our nation and our independence.

While some holidays seem to bring out the need in all of us to wow the crowd with the something new and exciting from the kitchen, I hate to break it to you, but no secret family recipes here!  Just the basic, traditional, All-American food is being served up. While some piece of the menu varies each year for the 4th of July depending on the schedule of events – whether we are camping, bbqing, or traveling to see family – for the most part, you can count on some combination of hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled corn, and tasty appetizers.  I do always try to make things particularly festive by making a fresh berry salad with red and blue berries of sorts…and if I am feeling up to the task, I will try my hand at baking ( I know, scary thought) by whipping together a red, white and blue cake or cupcakes.

The most important part of my day when it comes to food/beverage consumption? A Pendleton® Whisky in my hand, which means I am enjoying an awesome holiday with family and friends. Let’er Buck!

There you have it, plain and simple!

Cheers and Happy 4th of July.
