Hello, Pendleton Whisky fans! Enjoy this blog post from Posse member, Stephanie, who shares with us her favorite thing about a rodeo – an inspiring “pink” cause. Let’er Buck!
I’ve often been asked what I like best about a rodeo, yet it’s always hard to pinpoint one specific element. In thinking about this quite a bit recently, the same thing kept popping into my mind – Tough Enough to Wear Pink. It is so inspiring to show up at a rodeo on the designated Tough Enough to Wear Pink night and see the support of rodeo competitors, volunteers and fans outfitted in pink. Although pink is a favorite color of mine, wearing it on TETWP nights has taken on such a special meaning. We’re all at the rodeo wearing pink to show our support for breast cancer awareness and research, and it’s wonderful to see so many people rallying together for the same cause. It’s really something, particularly in this case, when you come to a rodeo to watch some of the toughest riders compete in a rough, grueling sport, and they’re proudly wearing the color pink in honor of the people in their lives who have battled breast cancer in one way or another. It is such an incredible moment when something so simple – like wearing a pink shirt – can be so impactful and I feel honored to witness it so often at rodeos around the country.
