2025 Military Edition NOW AVAILABLE
Pendleton® Whisky is best known for Canadian and rye whisky, reflecting the spirit of the American West and honoring its rich rodeo heritage.
Now, the Pendleton® Whisky family is expanding with a bold addition to our collection: Pendleton® 1910 Bourbon. This release is not just a new bottle—it’s a tribute to craftsmanship, innovation, and tradition marking an evolution in our brand’s legacy, and extending our reach to whiskey enthusiasts who crave the depth and complexity that bourbon offers.
We created this bottle in homage to the Pendleton Round-Up, a rodeo that’s now more than a century old and a yearly celebration of the rugged spirit of the American West. 1910 was the rodeo’s inaugural year, and our 10-Year Bourbon was created to celebrate that tradition.
Whiskey might seem like a complex topic. After all, its history goes back centuries to Scotland and Ireland. When the Scottish and Irish settled here in the 1700s, they brought their traditions, including their love of whiskey and the craft of distillation.
You may notice that Scotch and Irish whiskies are spelled differently, which correlates with North American examples. Irish and American whiskey is spelled with an ‘e,’ whereas Scotch, Canadian, and Japanese whisky drops the ‘e.’
If you’d like to learn more about the subtle nuances of all types of whiskey, check out our article, Bourbon, Whisky, and Rye: What’s the Difference?
Most whiskey—and whisky—is made from a mixture of grains: wheat, corn, barley, and rye. How bourbon is made is very distinct in terms of the grain used and the aging process.
Bourbon must be made in the United States. It must also contain at least 51% corn in the mash. Some bourbons use 100% corn, producing a sweeter, richer whiskey. Bourbon must also be aged in new American oak barrels. If the spirit is labeled “straight” bourbon, it is aged for at least two years and contains no additional color or flavoring.
Pendleton® 1910 Bourbon blends corn whiskey with rye, lending the spirit a spicy note that sings through the long finish. We then age our bourbon for 10 years in white American oak barrels and cut to 90 proof using pure glacier-fed water from Oregon’s own Mt. Hood. Its quality, style, and bold flavor highlight its craftsmanship, but what’s in the glass tells the real story.
Pendleton® Whisky stands for quality, tradition, and the Western way of life. From the stunning bottle, beautifully embossed with our signature bucking bronco, to the amber liquid within, you’ll know you’re holding something special.
From the moment you pour, you’ll notice lifted aromas of maple and toasted oak, preparing your senses for the richness to come. Flavors of caramel, vanilla, and spices caress the palate, wrapping up with a long, lingering finish replete with spices, cedar, and a kiss of sweetness that invites another sip.
How you enjoy it is entirely up to you, but we have a few suggestions.
Before you mix, try it neat in a rocks glass so you can indulge in its heady aromas. If you prefer your bourbon over ice, pour over a single cube. Large cubes are recommended as they melt slower and won’t dilute the spirit as quickly.
If you’re a cocktail fan, try our bourbon cocktail, the Cowboy Gold Rush, created especially for the Pendleton® 1910 Bourbon. Here’s the recipe:
Add to a mixing glass with ice:
Stir with a bar spoon until well mixed. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with a lemon twist.
When enjoying bourbon with food, think rich and hearty. Slow-cooked brisket, smoked baby back ribs, and grilled steak are our favorites, but if dessert is your thing, you can’t go wrong with a slab of pecan pie.
