Undeniably, the first thing you’ll notice about Pendleton® Whisky Directors’ Reserve is its packaging.
The heavy-bottomed glass bottle is debossed with its name and stamped with our iconic bronc rider logo in opulent gold.
Around the neck, you’ll see a leather smithed cuff designed by third-generation saddle maker Randy Severe, whose family has been making top-quality western saddles at its Pendleton saddlery since 1955. The die-cast stopper is our salute to the cowboy way of life, a bucking bronco in mid-ride, the rider’s hat in the air, evoking the energy, excitement, and intensity of that eight-second ride.
And while the package is worthy of any whisky collector’s back bar, it’s what’s inside the bottle that’s most swoon-worthy.
Our whisky is aged to perfection exclusively in new American oak barrels. The youngest whisky in the blend is 20 years old, making Pendleton® Whisky Directors’ Reserve a rare and exotic breed, a whisky to savor and celebrate all life’s moments.
We choose only select barrels to blend into this expression, each highlighting a unique characteristic of aroma, color, flavor, and body, adding endless layers of nuance to the final blend that unfurls on the palate like a story to be told.
The experience of tasting Pendleton® Whisky Directors’ Reserve is to be savored. We recommend it served neat at room temperature to enhance its bouquet. When you pour your glass, give it a swirl in the glass to lift the aromas.
On the nose, you’ll find toasted coconut, freshly grated cinnamon, vanilla, toast oak, and hints of orange zest.
Now, take a sip. Swirl it around to every part of your mouth to activate your flavor receptors. As it glides across your palate, you’ll first notice toasted oak echoed from the nose with smoky notes infusing flavors of ripe apples, caramelized pears, and bananas sprinkled judiciously with warm baking spices.
