Best Halloween Cocktail IDEAS

Midnight Fog

The ultimate Halloween drink requires a little prep, but it’s so worth it!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Stemmed Cocktail (martini, coupe, or wine glass)
  • Rosemary-spiced Cola Syrup (see below for recipe)
  • Ice
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Bar Spoon

INGREDIENTS (per cocktail):

  • 2oz Pendleton® Whisky Midnight
  • ½ oz Spiced Cola Syrup
  • ¼ oz Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1-2 Dashes Angostura or your favorite Bitters

METHOD

Make the Cola syrup:
Combine the following in a small pot on the stove:

  • 15oz Cola
  • 1 Stick cinnamon
  • 3 Cloves
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 2-3 Cardamom Pods
  • Large Sprig of Rosemary

Simmer until slightly reduced. Strain into a jar or other vessel and chill in the fridge until ready to use.

To make the drink:

  • Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice
  • Stir with bar spoon until blended
  • Strain into a chilled stemmed glass

Country Pumpkin

It’s like pumpkin pie in a glass! It’s simple to make — sweet, delicious, and a spirited refreshment to delight all grown-up trick-or-treaters!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Rocks Glasses
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Bar Spoon
  • Ice

INGREDIENTS (per cocktail):

  • 2oz Pendleton® Whisky Original
  • 1 Bar Spoon of Brown Sugar
  • 1 Bar Spoon of Pumpkin Puree
  • Orange Twist (for garnish)

METHOD

  • Combine all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker
  • Shake until cold and well-blended
  • Strain over ice into rocks glass
  • Garnish with a fresh orange twist

WESTERN STORM

Our riff on the classic, swapping out rum for Pendleton® Whisky 1910 Rye.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Rocks Glasses
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Muddler

INGREDIENTS (per cocktail):

  • 2 oz Pendleton® Whisky 1910 Rye
  • 4 oz Ginger Beer
  • 4-5 Fresh Blackberries
  • ½ oz Agave Syrup, Honey, or Simple Syrup
  • ½ oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • Optional: Use black sugar to rim the glass.

METHOD

  • Add blackberries, syrup, and whisky to the cocktail shaker and muddle well. Set aside.
  • Rim your glass by wetting the rim with lemon or lime juice and dipping it into the black sugar
  • Add ice and ginger beer to the rocks glass
  • Pour blackberry mixture on top
  • Garnish with a blackberry and lime wedge

The drink will appear separated, which makes for a nice presentation. However, the top portion is mostly whisky, so you might want to give it a stir before you sip.

Witches Brew

Cranberry, mint, and fresh berries create a bewitching punch concoction that’s easy to batch for your Halloween party.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Mint Tea (made in advance)
  • Raspberry Syrup (make or buy)
  • Ice
  • Large Pitcher or Punchbowl
  • Citrus Zester

INGREDIENTS:

  • 750 ml Pendleton® Whisky Original
  • 500 ml Mint Tea
  • 2500 ml Good Quality Cranberry Juice
  • 6 Limes
  • 1 Orange, Sliced
  • 1 cup Raspberries
  • 3½ oz Raspberry Syrup

METHOD

  • Make the mint tea using approximately 6 tea bags. Remove tea bags after steeping and cool before using
  • Combine whisky, cranberry juice, raspberry syrup, juice of all limes in a punchbowl or large vessel
  • Add orange slices and raspberries
  • Stir well to combine
  • Serve over ice in punch cups or rocks glasses

You can substitute the raspberry syrup with framboise (a raspberry cordial) or a good-quality cassis liqueur, like Royal Chambord.

All that’s left is to decide on your costume, invite your friends, and order a few bottles of Pendleton® Whisky for delivery. While you’re shopping, be sure to check out our cocktail page for more inspiration.
